Art Appreciation
WHAT WE DO
We are an open-minded, friendly group who are often taken out of our comfort zone by visiting exhibitions at, for example, the Sainsbury Centre for the Arts and Norwich Castle Museum.
We usually have a guide whose knowledge of the works on show is invaluable to our understanding and appreciation of these exhibitions.
Tea afterwards is a time for all of us to air our views on what we have seen.
We also watch DVDs of artists and art movements, each one introduced by a member of the group. Previous topics have included Van Gough, "Fauvism and Expressionism" and Grayson Perry.
During the summer we have two days out. We visit practising artists who are part of the "North Norfolk Open Studios" and have and a trip further afield, eg. The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and Gainsborough's House in Sudbury.
WHERE & WHEN WE MEET
2.00pm on the third Wednesday of the month at Erpingham with Calthorpe Village Hall.
